Planning Commission schedules
General Plan
workshops
The Planning Commission will hold its next workshop on the General Plan and its EIR on July 8 in the afternoon.
If left unchanged, the EIR would confer endangered status on over 100 non-listed species -- without any further analysis -- potentially costing Monterey County property owners billions of dollars.
The EIR incorrectly called these additional species "CEQA-defined special status species," when there is no definition of "special status species" in the CEQA statute or in the CEQA Guidelines.
The EIR also mandates mitigations based on growth projections that go out to the year 2092, when the planning window for a general plan is 20 years.
You can find more information at our General Plan page.
